JoeH I am often embarrassed to admit I like country music. But I am
So far from embarrassed to acknowledge and embrace Benjamin’s work and champion it loudly. It is what country music (any music really) should be. It tells the stories of life, of real people, the dispossessed, the non-celebrity. I often wonder where is the music that follows the folk and country traditions of Guthrie, Ochs et al. It’s here. With poverty, decline, addiction, etc so much a part of every day life for so many this is

Travis Button I've only just stumbled across Benjamin Tod, and I can say it has been quite a while since I've found something that I just have to play over and over and over again. Everything about this music from the lyrics, the inflection in his voice, and the sparse guitar just speaks to me and helps me through so many thoughts that go through my head on the day to day. Really happy I found this special album, and Benjamin. Thank you. Favorite track: Who I Am Ain't Who I've Been.

about

First of all I’d like to thank everyone who made this album possible. I am incredibly grateful to have so many people care about the art I create.
I know hundreds of artists far better than me who struggle to eat because this is an unforgiving world. I am one of the lucky few thanks to you. Cheers.
This album was recorded live with two mics and no over dubs. I’d say most of these recordings are the first take as well. This is a collection of my most personal songs arranged like a long journal entry. A lot of these are very hard to sing and some of them I will choose to never sing again.
This may be the only album of it’s kind I every create… Or at least I hope.
